Hardy provided the HVAC and all the process piping services for this plastic bottle making facility. The 140,000 SF building includes HVAC for the plant and the associated office and administration facility. Hardy also installed multiple piping services including low pressure compressed air, high pressure compressed air, chilled water, condenser water and natural gas. One unique aspect of Hardy’s scope included a custom built structural mezzanine to support process equipment and associated piping.

Powertrain Flexible Maintenance Facility

Calhoun County, AL

This LEED Certified, $85 million dollar state-of-the-art plant covers 142,500 square feet. The facility was designed with a flexible floor plan that allows for movement and adjustment of maintenance equipment and production lines to support a changing work environment. Hardy was selected as the Design-Assist Mechanical contractor for the facility. The mechanical systems include multiple 100 ton gas fired rooftop units, stainless steel and spiral duct work and exhaust hoods, process piping, compressed air piping and extensive underground process line boring.

Hardy was awarded the Army Corps of Engineers safe subcontractor of the year in recognition of the company’s superior safety record during the project.

Navistar International

Huntsville, AL

Navistar was a 510,200 square foot design-build project by Hardy. The installation of the 450 tons of HVAC was extremely difficult because the manufacturing equipment had been completed prior to our work. All ducts were hung 30’ over the manufacturing equipment. This project received a 2001 ABC Award for Excellence.

“Coordination of the new installation required extensive field review to determine elevation, routing and coordination with the electrical, fire protection, process piping and existing roof support structures. With the cooperation and dedication of the Hardy forces, the duct work system was installed on time and within budget… Our recognition of your efforts is evidenced by our continued business relationship.”
