At 235,000 SF, this institutional facility primarily contains research and educational labs including a BSL-3 lab. The building also includes classrooms, offices, meeting rooms and telecom/data rooms. Hardy provided all HVAC and Plumbing services for this 3 story building, including a central plant upgrade and expansion. The total project contract reached $64 million of which Hardy was responsible for $23 million. The mechanical system includes 450,000 pounds of duct, (2) cooling towers, (2) 1,000 ton chillers, (8) custom air handlers, (3) energy recovery units, (1) boiler, (2) heat exchangers, (14) pumps, medical gas, deionized water, domestic water, acid waster, compressed air, vacuum air, and multiple lab fans.
